Kalpana EtherSwitch EPS-1500 is a high-performance Ethernet switch thatdelivers a parallel LAN architecture to increase the throughput ofEthernet networks in excess of 600 percent. With seven pairs of Ethernetports, the EtherSwitch parallel architecture allows seven simultaneous 10Mbps conversations between any pair of Ethernet segments for a totaleffective throughput of 70 Mbps.Unlike a bridge or router, which addresses serial LAN throughputcontention by partitioning the network to reduce traffic load, theEtherSwitch establishes parallel streams of packets to increase theoverall capacity of the network. Through its ability to filter andforward 100 percent of the traffic without the loss of a single packet,EtherSwitch delivers the high-performance needed for demanding X-Terminaland other client-server network applications.
